Karyn has always been a creator, artist, activist, writer and teacher. She has walked the balance of a hectic western life and spiritual evolution with her four children and dear husband during their 30 years in Boulder, CO. In her past Karyn has developed, taught and run summer camps for at risk youth, has been a Court Appointed Special Advocate for children, developed and taught parenting courses, was a buyer for a high end retail store, neighborhood school public activist, and author of many blogs. Since 2001 she has been on the path of Buddhist and yogic studies of Tantric lineages and has dedicated much of her adult life to seeking, learning, growing and then applying all to her daily life.
In 2006 Karyn created and founded Bali Malas. a company offering spiritual jewelry and malas made from the sacred rudraksha bead. She took a chance to be the first to bring these sacred malas from Bali to the west and as a result has seen the industry thrive! With Bali Malas she was able to attain her goal of bringing ancient wisdom and beauty from the East, supporting indigenous peoples in a sustainable, enriching pursuit, and primarily offer blessings to all.
From her very first movements of her very first yoga class 13 years ago she knew she wanted to teach and bring the power of the connection of breath, body, spirit to others. She set out to do just that, and has been teaching ever since!
Karyn has taken her multiple years of involvement in the "yogic world" and narrowed her focus down to supporting like minded businesses through branding, copy writing, social media support, marketing and of course writing and teaching. Her business Wear Peace uses classic inspiration through oblique expression.
Currently she can be found in her hand made adobe home nestled above the town of Boulder CO, teaching yoga, teach SUP yoga, writing, hiking, and practicing this thing called life.
*Karyn is American Red Cross Adult and Child First Aid/CPR/AED
